Platinum Lawn & Landscape Service gets it "roots" from a former company known as "Ed's Lawn Service Inc" or "ELSI". ELSI was created and operated by Ed Shiflet in 1990 and continued successfully until August of 2006 when health issues forced Ed to pursue other endeavors.
Ed's son, Jim, had been working to run the company with his father for many years and in September of 2006 established "Platinum Lawn & Landscape Service". Jim chose to purchase many of the former company's assets and to hire several members of its workforce. This allowed him to retain ELSI's long established customers by providing the same quality of service that these customers had grown to expect over the years. Ed's high regard for quality and customer service is a trait we've recognized and adopted as our own. This commitment has rapidly fueled the growth of our company since its inception and is the reason for our high customer retention.
Ed is still a very integral part of the new company. With his 20 plus years of landscaping knowledge, he is consulted often on projects requiring his expertise. On occasion, you may even catch him on a jobsite providing guidance to Jim, or just telling a good joke. He usually travels with his trusty companion "Nox". Nox is a super-spoiled, but very friendly Weimaraner who is a shining example of good training.
On many occasions, you may see Jim and his crew out with Sadie, the unofficial and self-appointed company mascot. The kids just adore Sadie and she loves them in return. We get many questions about her so we have included some additional info here.
